This weeks episode of MuchCast comes straight from the kitchen of Brians house. Our resident geeks co-founders Kevin and Dan along with Brian and Ashley chime in on the latest in television and video games.
The gang covers energy drink Amped “Tradin’ Paint” the season finales of Lost and The Office, as well as video games Kane and Lynch, Flock and Fat Princess.
Those returning to the site have probably noticed, but for those who haven’t, we now have the MG logo up in the title bar. Thanks to Kevin for putting the logo together and thanks to the bbPress devs for making it nice and easy to swap the header there as well.
Co-Founders Chris, Dan and Kevin along with special guest, Kyle, got together at MuchGeek HQ on Saturday night (Apr. 11, 2009) to record MuchGeek.com’s first podcast.
The name of the show is MuchCast. It seemed like a fitting name for the show. Goes with the whole site theme.
Some of the topics discussed on this podcast are the mission of our site and podcast, hacking HTC’s G1 Android phone, Seth Rogen’s newest comedy “Observe and Report”, Kyle’s review of the Korg R3 keyboard/synthesisor along with much much much more random banter.
That’s right, and much sooner than expected! MuchGeek is here, live and ready to bring the thunder. Or at least the tech news and stories that we find interesting.. whichever comes first.
Thanks, first of all, to everyone who has been helping us get the site off the ground; we’ve already started to develop a solid community of like-minded individuals who all bring something awesome to the table, and there’s every reason to believe that what we are doing here has the potential and ability to become a strong resource and destination for everyone living the life of a geek (or at least trying to keep up to date with the world of tech).
If you haven’t already, stop by the Forums and see what’s going on, leave us a message. We’re still happy to talk to new people who are interested in contributing stories or, really, anything to the site. Obviously a new logo is in the works and hopefully there will be something better out soon, what I’ve put up there is just a bit of a place holder (edit: changed to a newer image.. a bit nicer, thoughts?). Same for the theme here, while it’s nice and sleek it doesn’t full fit the feel or provide the identity that we’re looking for for the long run.
Thanks again for stopping by, now it’s time to get to work on keeping up with making something that you will want to come back to every day for the stories, community and just the experience!
Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by – just wanted to give a quick update as to what we’re working on.
So far, it seems the site is pretty stable all around. Planning right now set the URL to go straight to the blog on Monday. Having a meeting at MG HQ tomorrow night to go over some things (and maybe get something cool done) and talk about some ideas.
Also working on getting a real layout figured out and setting up some main categories. Head over to the forums and give us some input on how we’re doing and what you’d like to see!
Hello everyone, Chris here. Just as an update, if you had been stopping by today you probably saw a lot of craziness. Hopefully everything got evened out now. Somehow, I managed to 404 the blog when I deleted a user profile last time around. Tomorrow I’m pulling a full server backup down just incase anything crazy like that happens to fly by again.
For now, however, everything SEEMS to be working properly. You can create an account here on the blog or over on the forums (links above) and log into either with the same credentials. Let me know how things are looking, if any features are missing or not working, or just any comments you care to give.
Tomorrow, I’ll reinstall all of the addons for bbPress. Until then, hold tight with the lack of avatars, sigs, images, formatting bars, new post updates and a lot of other things it doesn’t come with out of the box.
MuchCast is our weekly delve into the the world of technology covering (generally) the latest trends and hot topics in video games, movies, music, the web, gadgets, tech and whatever else comes to mind. Typically hosted by Kevin, Dan and Chris, each week usually brings a new guest or two in to join our discussion.
Check out the MuchCast Archive where you can find every episode of MuchCast along with a short rundown of what we were talking about.
